Default Rear spoiler on EBAY - good idea?

Does anyone have any experience with the company in this ebay listing? It's not an OEM spoiler but sounds like a legit alternative. Any thoughts?

I don't think I would do it. If you want a spoiler I would go to Lexus parts and buy one. There are some Lexus parts available through this forum that would probably be the best deal you will get.

I just ordered painted from Sewell Lexus

Have to drop it of at the body shop to get it installed.

But it was pretty cheap with a cl discount

My ES 350 touring model came with a spoiler among other things.

While I can't speak for this seller I bought a painted one on ebay over a year ago and I couldn't be happier. Installed it myself and it looks great and is holding up perfectly.

Bought mine off ebay too and its painted. Approx $200 with shipping to Canada. To me, it looks identical to the OEM one, the paint is still good after 2 years.

- installed it myself by drilling holes in the trunk and bolting it on and sealing it so water does not leak in. I do not recommend using 3M tape btw, hope this helps.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts, I'm going to check with my local dealer and see what the cost to buy would be and then have a buddy of mine who is a Toyota certified mechanic put it on in return for a case of beer!

As long as he installs the spoiler before he drinks the beer, it should be fine.

hell no buy it from sewell lexus. The last spoiler I bought from ebay the paint faded after a few years and I had to have it taken off and repainted. Once you install this one you will be drilling holes and using 3m urethane which is damn near impossible to get off so if it fades goood luck. For the price difference ill never buy off ebay again. Its just a shot in the dark. Esp. for my lexus. Maybe if I had a 10 yrs old honda civic with a fart can that would be ok.

Seriously I think it was like 150 bux from sewell.

There is a paper template on ebay for a few bucks that helps you locate the holes.
It is a pretty easy DIY. Just take off the trunk lid liner from the back of the lid first.

There is a Lexus tsb that explains the whole process for an IS.
