I average 32+ on trips and can count on one hand the times I've gotten as low as 30. (Will be 6 years in this car come May.) And that is irregardless of speed.

Not only would I NOT buy a loaner, I wouldn't buy a rental car either. I'm even leary about leased cars, as some leasees simply don't maintain them or drive them very well as the cars are only "temporary." Like a long-term rental.
Generally, I'm not worried about buying cars coming off leases. I bought a car coming off of a lease for my wife and it was a cream puff; great condition and low miles, and passed the third-party inspection with flying colors.

I've leased before and treated the car probably better than if I would've if I had financed it. There are usually a handful of rules regarding the condition of the car at lease-end. It can cost you dearly if you hand it over and it's not been properly maintained or it's been mistreated.

Got an ES350 myself for the week, I have my IS350 in for 10k service, some rattles, and headlight bubbling defect replacement.

I LOVE this car! Holy crap I never drove it when shopping the IS. When I went to price it on Lexus' site and saw you could get EVERY option including ML for same MSRP as my FSport IS I almost fainted. I think I know what my next car will be when the IS lease is up.

I used to have an ES and they're fantastic cars. When mine got totaled I opted to get something more sporty and ended up with an IS350. I do miss the ES for long road trips. It's without a doubt the smoothest riding car I've ever driven.

I once got a loaner with 217 miles on it. The 2011 ES 350 is extremely smooth at 100 mph.

Even owning an Ls430, I enjoy the Es for loaners. The fastest and best handling cars are loaner cars. There's enough power torque to chirp the front wheels and definitely has go. My dealer doesn't require fill up on loaners because they only give you 1/4 tank
