Excited new (to me) '08 ES350 owner
Hi all.
Picked an '08 ES 350 with 31k miles about two months ago and love it!! The hardest part of looking for a used car was finding one that was well cared for. Aside from interiors not being cared for, about 95 percent of them have scrached rims from people driving up against curbs. This one only had one rim that was scrached and that one is in the trunk now. I came up on this forum when I was considering buyin a lexus and the information here helped me with my decision. Best car I've owned so far and look forward getting into it every day.

Your car looks great, CONGRATS!

Congrats! We bought our '08 last December and love it. GREAT road car. Ours is the same color as your's, and even with 41K miles, it was also in absolute MINT condition. Owned by an older couple who didn't smoke and took meticulous care of the car.

It came with the premium package w/o navigation. This is a first luxury (or entry level luxury as far as the ES350 is considered) vehicle for me and I am very impressed with comfort and ride quality. Very satisfied with the car.

Paid $25k for mine after negotiating the price down by $1500. The car is not a CPO. CPOs generally run $2000 - $2500 higher in price which includes a multi-point inspection the dealer performs and an extended warranty – two things I did not care for when buying the car. Although the dealer will tell you the warranty or the inspection is complimentary – just another tactic they use to make a sale. Taking the car for an extended test drive, getting the car up on the lift, and hooking up a scanner will give you a good idea if there is anything wrong with the car. Regarding test drives, I like to do those in the morning before anyone else drove the car and warmed it up. I found some cars to hesitate starting on the first turn of a key (or push of a button) or just sound horrible once they do and before they warm up. There are numerous other things you can look at or ask the dealer for you to provide to ensure you are buying a car that is mechanically sound and does not have any inherent problems.
