This is my first car with the smart key technology so I'm a newbie. I just purchased a used 2008 ES350 and it only came with one key - its a black color smart key with a key insert. Is this considered the master key? What am I missing? Valet key?

you should have had 2 key fobs each with metal key insert. The metal key is for when the battery dies and you can open the door using the metal key.

Check the owners manual online for "key" details
