License Plate Screws
Question from a new owner. We just licensed our car and got our plate. Wife wanted to put a vanity frame from college on it but the screws are not long enough (frame is metal and thick). My question is we dont need the front holder and those screws are a little bit longer but a much coarser thread. Suggestions?

The Lexus dealers and service personnel are top notch. I needed the same and went to my dealer to ask about how to get them. The service assistant said please wait here for a minute and came back with the screws and the plastic chrome caps for free, try this route first.
Good luck!

Yep, the usual bolts supplied by dealers here in Colorado are way too short for use with any type of decent license plate frame. They can be used with inexpensive (thin) frames. The bolts/threads are metric, so most good hardware stores (like Lowes) will have longer replacements if your dealer doesn't have any. Some frames come with longer bolts too. If you have to buy the bolts, try to get stainless steel bolts so they won't get immediately rusty. Same goes for washers if you need them.
