I have a friend that works at the dealership. He inspected the car and said it wasn't my fault. He says it should be covered. He said that the warranty dollar amount they had to spend for the year was already used up & that's why I didn't get a new engine. I am pursuing other avenues to try and get this resolved.

Now that's it's January, the dealership should be "flush" with fresh dollars for fixing!!

I had the exact same issue with my 08, but for me.. The dealer took care of this as it was still under the original manufacturer's warranty.
Now, In 3 weeks, I will be running out of the warranty.. and am debating of buying extended warranty!!
Very interesting thread.. adding more confusion to my decision on the extended warranty.
