2012 ES350 - how much should I pay?
Hi,
I am in Northern California. I am looking to lease (or possibly buy) a 2012 ES350. Can someone provide me some info on the following:
1) what is the true deal cost for this car, without any options (provide link if possible)
2) about how much rebate/holdback would the dealer get back from Toyota/Lexus?
3) how much should I offer for this car, from the true dealer cost price?
$1000 below what they pay for? (since they may get back $2000, $3000 rebate from Toyota/Lexus)
4) is it customary for the buyer to pay for the delivery fee, if so, about how much is that?
5) are there any other fees that the dealer may ask me to pay for, that I shouldn't be paying for?
6) are the any other major issues should I be concerned about, that I haven't mentioned so far?
Thanks so much for your help.

Do some serious research on the Edmunds, Kelly Blue Book and NADA web sites. Most of your questions will be answered.
Since 2012 will most likely be the last model year for this generation of the ES, you may be able to get a reasonably good deal. I have seen some posts that indicate some folks in Southern California were getting up to $6000 off the price of leftover 2011s, but I'm sure discounts will vary greatly. Does this mean you can get $6000 off? Heck no--probably nowhere close to that. Good luck!

Another good site to start out on is truecar.com. You can get prcing and selling price information for dealers in your specific area. It's user friendly too.

Even though many websites say that the invoice price for the ES350 is around $33,290, the holdback/rebate that the dealer gets is about $7000. This makes the dealer price for this car about $26,829.
See this link: http://www.car-buying-strategies.com...50-prices.html
So RickC5 is right.
If the dealer buys this car in for about $27,000 (this includes the delivery fee of $875), so how much should I offer for it? $29,000 ?

Good luck!
I find the best way to get a dealer to budge on price is to have another deal in hand to have them beat. To save a lot of running around and "game" playing. Email local dealership Internet salespersons for pricing. Holdback is the "Holy Grail" good luck trying to get them to dig into that in a current model year.

Just bought a new 2011 with the nav package for 37,400.00. The 2012 packages are a tad different. For 2011 I think the Ultra was the only step above the package I got at that price. The holdback they showed was 895.00. No dealer can afford to sell cars at cost, especially dealers that offer loaners etc... after the sale.
The compatible 2012 in the color I wanted most was about 3K more. Mine is a work mobile and will rack up about 30K a year, I'm a little color blind for that kind of money.
