Default Question regarding 2008 ES350 Bulbs

I have a 2008 ES350 Premium Package (Canadian Version). I know the car comes with HIDs. My question is, is it only the low beams that are HIDs? What about the high beams? Are they HIDs as well?

In U.S. versions only the low beams are HID. Not sure about Canadian models but would think they are the same.

The high beam light bulb is size 9005. Plenty of brighter white bulbs on the market. Take a look at the Sylvania and Hoen USA websites. Some of the bulbs need a heavy duty "pigtail" wire and connector to handle the increased wattage, esp the HID look bulbs available at Hoen USA. Thinking about getting a matching HID look alike for the high beams too on my 2011.

www.sylvania.com and www.hoenusa.com websites.

So i would have to replace the OEM wire? is that a simple task? I mean yeah it should be easy to replace the wire but is it easily accessible?

They have a plug and play connector set that has heavy duty plastic and connections. Goes for $20 per pair plus shipping.

Running 100 Watt super white 9005s in my 2008 ES350. No wire change or anything else ( divide by 12 and get the amps: low). Have run 100 watts since 1979 in my cars--never a problem--and you can see deer on the road lots better. I always buy from JCW. Note that DOT says run them off-road only.

Ride with someone having the 100W and you will want them !! I ran 400watts in a 635CSI Euro.:: two 100w H-1s and two100w H-4s halogen and that was with CIBE Z beams--awesome. 4.58 amps vs 8.33 amps per light is certainly no concern. Z beams had the same cutoff as the HID and that was in 1986. Low beam was 80W on the H-4s. This technology has been around for a while~~~
