My front passenger side window was smashed. When i went to try and get the car started there was no power. I got it jumped and now it only goes 20 mph. the check engine light is on and check vsc light. the car is a 2007 ES350. Any help would be great.

Simple - if the CEL light is on, you need the code read. Have it towed and checked out!

Most likely not a simple fix, but I'm guessing your insurance company will cover it anyway.... so take it to a Lexus dealer if it's not on your dime.

Is it most likely caused by the alarm draining the battery? I heard that you shouldnt try and jump these newer cars?

You can jump start the car with no problems. I've done it several times. A drained battery would have nothing to do with your car only reaching 20 mph. You need to have it checked out.

MDames2 is right - your car can be jumped without any problems and your symptoms point to something more serious. Anywhere you can get your CEL code read will point you in the right direction. A trip to the dealer is probably in order.

what did they try to steal.. what sort of default alarm we have on the es350. i do see a blinking red light.. will it go off and make noise..

I read that the factory alarm only goes off if they try and to open the door from the inside. I assume they broke the window and tried to open the door. They only got my ipod.

It seems that because the battery was so drained it might have messed up the computer.
