I had a K&N in my wife's '02 ES300 and was pleased with the results, better mileage. So I thought I'd install it in her 2010 ES350

Install is a snap. Pop the trim plugs by pushing in the center.
Remove the trim pieces
3 Clips hold the filter box top on, pop them.
Remove old filter and seat the K&N
reseat the box top etc.

Nice vid there - that should help some folks that are a little intimidated by anything under the hood of their cars.

I sure hope everyone realizes how easy this is and never has anyone install an air filter for them again, regardless if it's a K&N or OEM type!

I used to run K&N filters on cars I've had in the past - any difference in volume when stomping on the gas while driving?

I had a K&N cold air induction with a cone filter and the sound it made was addictive - and for that reason my mileage wasn't any better. Got K&N pods on my motorcycle too, sounds wicked.

Not really a noticeable sound difference, this is not a true free flow intake as the cone type is.

I had the K&N but noticed no difference, not so with the ram air - small difference, but noticeable just the same.

Having put K&N air filters in various modern (and a classic car), one thing it can do is throw a code when the oil from the filter builds up a little on the Mass Air Flow sensor. Just be aware that it may do this, and all it takes is a little electronics cleaner to clean the MAF sensor off. Then reset the code.

i always use a Wix or Napa Gold Filter if those 2 are not available i go with OEM filters on any car i have owned

K & N filters (or any other "oiled" type, for that matter) when over oiled when serviced (cleaned and reoiled) have a history of causing contamination of the MAF sensor element and causing performance issues. I used a panel K & N on a car twenty years ago but it used the MAP sensor system (which was not affected by oil in the intake) but on my subsequent cars that use a MAF sensor I've played safe and have used the OEM filter. In the mid-nineties Ford expressly stated that using an oiled type air filter "could" void warranty coverage.
The ES 350 has a very good intake system.......faces fwd, subject to the coolest air that you can get, and under hight engine loads a valve in a second intake duct opens (you can see the split and the second duct opening in the intake scoop). You can also see the two ducts at the air filter housing.
The mufflers also have an exhaust volume valve that opens with high exhaust pressures.

Used to use them back in the 80s and 90s. Had one in my 2007 ES350 and did not notice any difference in power or mileage. And I was guilty of over oiling. Just run the regular paper OEM type filter on all vehicles.
