Default 2011 es courtesy oil change

i brought my car to the dealer after the one month period called for in the manual.the odometer had less than 600 miles.timewise i am due for the 5000 mile complimentary service, although my car has only 1200 miles presently. i dont think any thing other than a visual inpection and car wash was done on my first service.i hope i can delay this until i put two or three thousand more miles, although it may negate the comped oil change. any info on this matter would be appreciated.

You might want to call the dealership where you bought the car and ask them.

My guess is since Lexus recommends oil changes at 6 months or 5k miles (unless your car came with synthetic), whichever comes first, they'll suggest you bring it in based on the 6 months.

^^^^It's not a courtesy light it's a PITA light. Every Lexus has one, and there is a procedure, that doesn't seem to be the same from model to model to turn it off. The procedure to turn off the Light is different on my F than from my wife's ES.

The dealer told me on my 2010 to come back at 1000 miles for a once over look at the car. Also list any issues or programing changes that I wanted . They checked the car and did the changes I wanted and washed it. I was then asked to bring it in for the 5000 mile free oil change. They figure that this comes about 6 months in. They called me to ask if I wanted them to pick up the car but due to my low usage I told them I'd call when I hit 5000 miles. It took me 9 months to hit 5K so I had them change it. I am due back at 10,000 but don't expect to hit it for a few more months. I just hit 8K miles. I'll do the next oil change myself at 10K miles. I got 5 oil filters as part of the buy. As to the oil change light it's pretty simple to turn off. Follow the OM and it takes maybe 10 seconds to do.
