I put the car up for sale this week :-(
sorry to hear about the issues, george! Sounds like it may be best to trade it in on something that works better for you. I just recently picked up an '11 ES, and am pretty satisfied with the seat comfort. not quite as good as my 97 LS, but decent nonetheless. I've logged about 8 hours of driving in the last few days, and haven't experienced much in the way of discomfort. I will say that I just had a '13 ES as a loaner for a couple days, and the seat comfort is MUCH improved.

Interesting thread. I am looking at an 07 ES350 but it has the Ultra Luxury Package, which includes a seat cushion
extender. It adds only an inch or to the seat bottom but that's important for me...I find most seat cushions a little too short. My current ride, a 2001 Saab 9-5, has the second best car seats I've had... the best were in an ''89 Merkur Scorpio (anyone remember those)?

That said, I did find the seats in the 2013 Altima very good on a recent test drive. And I've never heard anyone complain about Volvo seats.

I had a Merkur XR4TI turbo 4 speed. Fun car to drive but I lost my shirt when I traded it in after Ford pulled the plug on them in the U.S.

Never been in a Saab 9-5 in my life. And Merkur's are a distant memory unfortunately. I think the Lux pkg with the seat extenders should take care of the problem. Funny - for now - if i pull the seat up uncofortably close - my legs don't bother me. Also - my daughter borrowed it for a day and said the back and forth to work - her legs went numb. She is 5'4" - so, not a height thing.

seriously thinking of selling my 2012, the only reason is SEATs. Other than that car is very nice. Seats just kill it, my butt and back hurts, I started driving my wife's Acura RDX to work, and my pain problems are gone.

That sounds like the best thing to do. It's too bad that an issue like this doesn't surface until after you buy a car.

As mentioned before, I had two ES350's and thought the seats were very good in both cars, but things like this will vary by person.

Traded in my 07 ES350 on Saturday for an 08 Inifiniti G35X. My last 4 cars are 2 infinitis, TL and a Maxima. Went back to Nissan/Infiniti. Drove approx 50 mles on Saturday and 35 miles on Sunday. My legs and back haven't felt this good in months.
I will stay in this forum for another week or so to answer any questions about the problem i had wth my first and only Lexus. Too bad - i really liked the Lexus - but i am glad to be back in an Infiniti.
Thank you all for you comments. Best to you!

Unhappy

I recently picked up a 2009 ES350 and I was very excited (I already own a Rx330). The seat thing got to me instantly as well. My left foot goes numb within minutes - but if I take my shoe off, the problem seems to go away, don't know why!! I will most likely sell this car sooner than anticipated. I miss my Volvo

Sorry to hear about it. Funny, my daugter borrowed my ES350 and had both her legs go numb. She hated it after only one day (must be a genetic thing?). SHe also said the audio system (base) as terrible - i agree. Got a BOSE in the Infinti that kicks ***.
I have no complaints against the Lexus except the seats. I would be curious to hear of you - or others - experience.

Interesting about the seats comfort, I found them very comfortable.

There are seat shops, at least in GTA area, that can easily add padding to the seat lumbar and that doesn't cost much, probably less than $100 to do. I've done it to my Olds a few years back...

For the situation when the driver's legs went numb, there is a setting to change the height of the front most part of the seat and if that is high it can certainly make legs go numb...

Already added more and firmer padding to the seat - and you are right $100. Tried that - no diff. Tried all kinds of adjustments.
2 Weeks now with the Infiniti - and my legs/back are almost back to normal. Go figure.

George, 10 posts in total in this forum, and 5 of them in this thread. Go enjoy your Infiniti and be well. I'm happy that you like your new seats. Now go take a long drive and savor your new seats, then go post how happy you are with them at G35Driver.com

I have a 2007 with the UL package and it's VERY comfortable!! I drive 600 miles around trip every other weekend and my legs and back feel great..
I was thinking of up grading to a used LS or a new ES but I'm a little worried it won't be as comfortable as mine.

I had a 2013 ES as a loaner, and the seats are much more comfortable than my 2011, and I don't think the 2011 seats are that uncomfortable to begin with.
