Don't worry you can drive the car for at least 5 years and by then buy the new one when used when the kinks are worked out!

It will look not resemble the current ES at all. Another interesting item is that he also mentioned that the 2013 ES will look more like the redesigned 2013 LS, confirming what Lextooth wrote above. The interior of the 2013ES will be ‘off the chain’, super clean and lux to the max. Hang on to your seats folks, if this is true then I think we may be in store for a very pleasant surprise. I’m already thinking of trading up. Another item mentioned is that the ES has 2000 more welds than a Camry so structurally it is a much more solid car than the Camry.
I wouldn't be suprised if the next ES has styling elements similar to the new GS. Pictures of the GS have been circulating and Lexus TV ads show the new look front end.. I think they are on the Lexus web site too.

I just sold a 2004 RX (Gen 2) for $19,000. You are correct, there is ALWAYS a market for quality. Plus, there will always be some who prefer the older style. We just bought a 2011 ES too. Love it.

Thanks, good luck with yours as well. My other concern is I've always owned Lux SUV's and am concerned about giving up AWD just B-4 the inevitable snow. But I found myself driving around in a 7 passenger Enclave by myself since my 3 girls and wife all have their own rides.

The traction control combined with FWD is probably adequate in most conditions. Of course, we are in Texas so we don't get too much ice and snow.

Been running all season Kumhos on my late 2007 and no issues with snow / traction in the past 5 winters except trying to move the car over some deep, wet snow in front of the wheels. Had to dig out the snow in front of the wheels to move it out. I think the non defeatable traction control was a slight problem.

Hello there and welcome to the forum

The ES will be re-designed for the 2013 model year meaning that the car will be available in about a year from now. I bought an 09, but had I known about the minor refresh that was coming in 2010, I would have waited. It's your call really, if it was me, I would wait, but if you really like you have picked out (of course you do!!), then go with it, the ES is a great car, so you won't go wrong either way....

The salesman said that the ES would not look like the GS, but of course he has not seen any pics either, just inside information from Lexus. He said the front end will look like the LS. I can see the ES having an interior similar to that of the GS, which is really elegant and luxurious IMO.

Hello everyone
I expect the change will be a total class ES in 2014

Why?
Because, GS new shape for 2013
And the category of gs previous format change in 2006, with a class IS

IS, Then your 2013 going to changeI
And in 2014 will change ES + IS

Ah, I'm not too sure about that on the ES. That would put the ES at a 7 year run and Lexus typically does not do more than 6 years. Plus, while the ES sales are decent, considering its age, it certainly is not selling like it used to 2-3 years ago so a redesign is needed. Since the 2012 ES is largely unchanged, I think will see a redesign next generation 2013 coming out at the middle or end of next calendar year.

What do you all think will be coming up next on the next gen ES? What would you like to see Lexus do to the car to improve upon it?

What would motivate me to look at a 2013 is all wheel drive option, standard remote start and an improved restyle.
