Default '08 ES350 recent purchase - Nav?

Recently purchased an '08 ES350 and the Nav maps need to be updated. Where is the disk located and would it be recommended to change it myself or pay the local Lexus dealer $50?

Search and you will find. I would do the search for you, but I'm on my way out the door. But, trust me it's here.

The procedure to swap the disc is covered in your owners manual.

You'll find the manual is quite comprehensive... I sure was surprised to see all that it covers.

It's easy to change. Just read the manual. If you don't have a manual, you can log onto owners.lexus.com, register your car, and they will send you a free manual. You can also download the manual from the same site.

Nav disks are quite expensive. Sometimes you can get a used Lexus nave disk on ebay or craigslist for less.

We have a deal with lexus.sewellparts.com for discounts as well. You need to register an account with them with your CL username to see the discounts.

Change it yourself! Take the money you save and go out to dinner.

It's beyond simple.

Thankyou for the responses. The way the dealer talked I never imagined it would be in the manual. From now on I will look at the manual before asking questions. I found a disk on ebay for less than half of the dealer's asking price.

By the way, the ES350 is the bomb! Talked my wife into it. She traded her '00 RX300 and was looking for an RX350. I'm glad she feel in love with the 350. Now I want one but I guess I will stick with the Suburban, it does serve a purpose.

Apex, south of Raleigh.

Ha! My brother and family live in Greer so I'm driving right by you once a year or so.
