Owner of a '07 ES350 with 38k miles.

On Sunday drove home from a friends house less than 3 miles away, then the CEL and VSC indicator light and "Check VSC" message has shown up along with the red triangle. (I checked the fuel cap for CEL)

Monday drove about 10 miles, car ran fine but the dash still looks likes Christmas.

Tuesday drove to work about 20 miles car ran fine. On the way home the car started to run rough after coming to a stop and acceleration is slow with the engine at operating temperature. After 15 miles in I was able to increase my speed to 60 mph and the the CEL flashed about 20 times then continued to stay on then flashed about another 20 times and is on now .

It's been at least a 3 or 4 days since filling up at usual gas station. The time before I used a unfamiliar no name gas station.

Same thing happened to my car with close to the same mileage. With all those lights I thought it would be something more serious - but after a trip to the dealer, it was just a bad O2 sensor.

I know - why would the VSC be tripped?

Hopefully you're still under the 4 year portion of the warranty and they'll take care of it.

Either way - a dealer would have to read the codes to be certain of the exact problem.

Take it to a local auto parts chain store and ask them to read the code. They usually all do it and they'll tell you what the problem is. Otherwise just take it to the dealer. I bought a scanner a few years back and can read and erase codes in any OBDII car. Comes in handy for a few of my friend who don't always put the gas cap on right.

Same symptoms on my wifes car tonight on her way home from work. I plugged in the OBD II reader (I think I paid $60.00 for it a while back) and it had 9 codes. P0300 ~ P0306 (Random Multiple cylinder misfire detected & Cylinder 1 through 6 misfire) and two P0356 codes (Ignition Coil F Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction). Found out through internet search that coil F is front right #6. Swapped with #4, reset the code and drove a few miles. CEL came back on, Code P0354 came up on the OBDII Reader. Problem followed, need to replace the coil.
Now trying to decide, do I need to get new coil from Lexus? Toyota? Autozone? Prices seem to vary greatly online. Looking for input if anyone has any thoughts.

Go on line and check different prices. Most of the after market stuff is pretty good but I would talk to Lexus if you have less then 40K miles on the car. Coil packs should last at least to 75K miles. It may be a Lexus but it's a Toyota motor.

Thanks! My car has 58K miles so I went ahead and just called around -
Autozone = $115.00 - 1 week eta
Lexus = $99.00 - 1 ~ 2 day eta
Toyota = $112 - in stock.
Asked Toyota if they would match Lexus price (strange, expected reverse), they did. Bought from Toyota and all is well.
Also picked up some rear brake pads from Toyota.
