I did this mod as well. With the amber lights I could not even tell if they were on (black carpeting).
Thanks ekwlee for the write up to get us all to do this mod. Simple, and the white light is much better then the amber ones.

You can also go to your local Lexus part's department and order a pair of the IS250/350 foot well lights. They are white and that is what I used to replace the god awful yellow/amber foot well lights that come OEM in the ES350. That is what I did plus you get Lexus original equipment in the process. I think I paid $13 for the pair. Took about 5 minutes to swap them out.

This is another way you can do it as well. Can't for the life of me figure out why Lexus put those ambers standard, especially considering the overhead center console ambient light is white, lol.

Hardness scale: 2; [1-10 (Easy-Hard)]
Part #: 81080-22040
Amt Needed: 2 of the above part numbers
Cost: Approximately $40
Directions:
1. Order the Parts from your local dealer!

2. Secondly you need to locate the lights underneath the steering column (L) and underneath the glovebox (R). See below
Left:

Right:

3. Let's work on the left side first; Just place your thumb on the light itself and push upwards hard. The light should pop out, and it should look like this...

4. Unplug the light and put one of your lights in....then it should look like this!

5. Reorient the light back to the original position, and push the light back into place (its going to be a hard push)

6. Go to the right side of your car (this part is just a tad bit harder)
7. Locate the light underneath the right side
8. Remove the rubber cover from the light (it is just covering the outside of the light). It just looks like below...

9. On the left corner, of the bottom most covering, pull strongly where the bottom panel and the glovebox panel meets.

10. The panel should come down at that corner, and continue to slide your hands along the edge towards the right of the car until the whole panel comes out.
Right Corner

11. The middle of the panel should look like this...

12. Remove the light and plug in the new light, replace the light in the same place.
13. Make sure when you put the panel back you put the panel ends back into the two holes you see in the back (insert pun in here)

14. Put the rubber cap back on
15. Pau! (All done)

After Pictures

How/where did u get the led replacement. i prefer the led to the yellow factory fitted.....thanks

Blue led footwell lighting. The image is full powered usually when the doors are open or vehicle is in park. When you drive it's half powered.

I love the look of that. Would you mind sharing where you got the bulbs for those (perhaps a link?) and help me order the same thing? Thanks!

I posted it when I did it, I swapped out both footwells, the glovebox, and the center console. There all the same part I bought them from a Toyota dealer. The glovebox wasn’t bad I was able to pluck out the little box, the center console was allot harder.

You have to remove the rear center vents and then just pull the armrest LED.
