I recently bought a pre-owned 2007 Lexus ES 350, only 30K miles. I am hearing an annoying rattle coming from the rear window / 3rd brake light. I gave it to the dealer to look at but they thought it was from inside the trunk and said the jack wasn't secured. Nonetheless, that wasn't it, and the rattle continues. I know it's coming from inside the cabin, not in the trunk. It alsmost seems like the 3rd brakelight is rattling or possibly hitting the rear window?

You almost need someone else to drive the car and get to the rear. I pressed around on the 3rd brake light when my wife was driving the car and it could possibly be something in that area.

Any suggestions or anyone experiencing this?

IIRC, there's an issue with the radio antenna signal amplifier vibrating on that car. It's a small electronic module inside the right rear quarter panel. The fix is to replace it's bracket with a stiffer one. There should be a TSB on this.

Also, look at your rear middle roof light, that is what making my car rattle. Either the lamp is not clipped proprely, easy to test or simply pull down the roof lining and put foam on the Tire pressure module, the lamps tend to tap the module and make a metal buzzing.

Yes, it does resonate in the rear and people will think it is the rear deck or the rear window.

I had the exact same issue, same car. Took it 3 times to dealer, the 4th time they took apart the rear window and replaced it with a new one. Problem solved!

I had an es 350 2010 loaner for 3 days and it makes the same rattle noise on the back window. Now im trying to figure out my drivers window as it makes a noise they couldnt repair. Ahh how frustrating..
