Default Price check, 2010

Hi, I have been helping my mom as she is looking at an ES350. She drove it and loves the ride.
The dealer offered the following after some round and round:

2010 ES 350 , Base, heated seats, black/black ------34,900

offer for trade in-----------------------------------13,000
Trade is a 2005, silver, base, ES330, 60K, new tires
and had all the brakes done within last 6 months. WELL kept.

1.9% financing.

Im looking to see if anyone can shed some light on this deal. I have a feel taht they are about 1500.00 to high on the price, or maybe Im just valuing moms trade toooo much, what you guys think.

Check KBB.com or carpoint.com and check the invoice vs. sticker.
I believe you'll find the difference to be about $5K. The dealer also has a 2-3% holdback from Toyota to play with.

That should pretty much give you the dealers cost vs. sticker

big question is what is msrp on vehicle. as far as Invoice, I researched this extensively when purch early this yr. Inv will be around 9.5 % from msrp. EJC is absolutely correct in that there is 2-3% holdback that comes back to them and other incentives can help, time veh on lot, etc.

Where the huge mark up in all the options since she's buying base not much to make on. If you can get 9-10 % off MSRP you cant go wrong, wouldnt settle for less than 9 %. They will show you invoice sheet on all their veh with vin id as vehicle if you ask.

myself i would have worked the new car purchase first and not combined the trade/in with figures, cant help with t/i on whether its decent. Best of Luck.

So the msrp is 37,400.
They offered this so far:33,800 as a sale price.
I am leaving the trade alone for now.
Seems like a good deal

That is very good deal for Base line ES350, not much more you can do, maybe 100-200.00 less at very most but me personally I try to keep things in perspective.....not like you are at Kia and they are going to ding you @ 11 % interest, most Lexus buyers are going to get above financing either thru Lexus or their own Financing options. i was able to get 2.9 % @ 36 months from Lexus and was happy with below invoice of veh purchase.
Will own car in 2-2.5 yrs.... then keep about 5-7 yrs generally.

Not sure of your loc didnt check but if your near carmax give them a try for t/i .....I sold my 2004 es330 first through them and then went to Lexus to purch, although I had already neg price of 2010 over ph. Best of luck.

Smile

Deal all done
Out the door for 33500 and getting 13500 for trade in.
Moms happy this site is sooooo helpful.
Just so everyone knows they offered up two 500 discounts to get past the hump.
Seems like a great deal along with 1.9
Financing

Jrey
Right on the money so to speak they came down 300 and froze. Told me it was the end and if I didn't take NO deal.
I'm wasn't going to blow the deal over 500 bucks.
My offer was 33,000.00

That is a good deal. Sounds like you pulled the trigger?

I see your in IL - Chicago area? I bought an '07 at Lexus Of Orland Park and a '10 in Naperville. Both dealerships were good to do business with.

Congrats to your Mom ! Excellent deal...anything over 10 % disc is in top cateogory of 2010 es350 purchases . There is actually couple sites that showed graphs from diff regions of U.S. and disc level that cust purchased...one was under Amer Exp beleive or not....both had 9.5% or more under excellent. Little research and taking emotions out of it will go long way. Had quite of few options on mine was able to get to 10.3 % disc level, although I wanted 11%..all in all I knew I had done well. Welcome to the Lexus Club.!

Which McGrath? I bought mine yesterday from the one in Chicago on Division and Elston. The salesman Andy there was great. This is my first Lexus and the dealership and the staff made it a quick and great purchase. They showed me the invoice and gave me a $500 off voucher to close the deal. The dealership amenities and the staff made it the best vehicle buying experience.
