The dealership I went to get my tires replaced, asked me to replace something within (Hardware, Sleeves, washer) of the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Do we have to replace it or use what's already on it.

I just changed my winter tires to the summer one and NO, nothing to add or to replace on the tpms. Caution on doing outside the dealership since i've heard stories about the wheel machine is scrapping the tpms while rotating.

Some of the tire shops like Discount Tire say they've been advised by Lexus and other's to "rebuild" the TPMS valve each time they break down or replace a tire. I forget the charge but believe it is between 5 and $10 for a rubber seal etc. I'd rather not have this done because I believe there is a risk of overtorquing the retainining nut on the valve but they insist - and the rest of the repair is free so I live with it.

There is a sleeve kit that you can change but it's not absolutely necessary.

Have had two sets of replacement tires so far / no problems nor did I rebuild the TPMS.

I am about to change my two front tires soon.
Is there anything I should do with the TMPS? (Do I need to set it again at 30 psi?)

You will need to reset it so the car can learn the new tires again.

All I need to do is park the car on a even surface, turn on the engine and hold the reset switch until the tmps light blinks three time?

What is ideal is to set all the tire pressure (including spare if so equipped) to 26psi. Once that is complete, then initialize the system. Once the system is initialized, then raise all pressures to 32-36 depending on your preference. What this does is set the threshold down to 22psi, so you significantly reduce the chance that you will experience a false tire light due to fluctuations in tire pressure by temperature swings.

At the dealership we never rebuild the tpm sensors. Just a FYI.

Thanks for the info.
I had replace my front tires at a local tire shop.
I notice the steering wheel shaking a little and the wheel alignment is a little towards the left.

Has this matter to anyone before? I saw the guy just mount the new tires on but didn't balance them. (just fill it up with air and check the pressure level)

WOW. Go screaming back there and complain. Balancing the tires is an integral part of the tire changeover process. You should also go for a front end alignment whenever tires are replaced.

I ordered tires at Costco and they said in these parts needed to be replaced for warranty purposes. They also said that they release the TPMS into the tire prior to dismounting it to keep from damaging it. Therefore the parts need to be replaced to keep them from leaking. I thank it was 1 or 2 dollars per tire.
