Default Recommendations for New Quiet Tires for 2007, ES 350

Time to replace tires. Any recommendations on a brand and model that will give a quiet ride and last for at least 40,000 miles on my ES 350, 2007?
Thanks, JMJS49

Bridgestone Serenity seems to be a pretty quiet tire while also providing reasonable dry and wet traction. I have them on my wife's G35 coupe and my son's Solara. I'll put them on my '07 ES in a few thousand miles. I heard the Michelin Primacy MXV4 is pretty quiet but I don't have any experience with them. Continental's ExtremeContact DWS is getting some pretty good reviews on the BMW forums for being quiet with good handling and also very good in snow for an A/S tire.

Check out the reviews and surveys at The Tire Rack.

I currently have the Toyo Versado LX on the my ES. They are very quiet with good dry and wet handling but the tires never really would balance properly. Toyo replaced the worst two tires at no charge which helped but two different shops have had trouble getting a good road force balance on them. Both shops confirmed it wasn't wheel or suspension issues. The shake is minor, but enough that I won't recommend them.

Hope this helps.

Been running Kumho Solus tires for about 16,000 miles now and they have about 1/2 tread life left versus OEM Michelins that wore out in 10,000 miles and the replacement set under 1/2 price warranty by Michelin only lasted about the same. Look at www.tirerack.com for recommendations.

Bridgestone Serenity's on my ES and I really like them over the crappy stock EL 400's.
Toyo Versado LX's on the wife's RX.No balance problems.
Would have went with the Serenity's but none available in the RX size.
The Toro's are very good,though.
The Michelin Primacy MXV4 that Bill mentioned is a good tire that I was interested in but are 'H' rated. Not a big deal but I wanted to stay with the ES stock rated 'V' .

as mentioned in other thread....had very good success with Michelin Primacy....rated @ 60,000....and based on my experience you will get at least 90 % of that if not more. Not sure if you had Discount Tire Chain...very good outfit but they will prorate when time to replace orig purchase.

let us know how you come out.

Hi Garsarno, Thanks for comments on Kumho Solus, I was thinking for getting them when I remove my winter tires next month. I have been using them on my 2001 RX300 and they have just fine, very quiet tires and smooth.

Without question, Michelin Primacy's. I have them on my Accord and they are q-u-i-e-t.
If you look at Tire racks web site you will see that consumers rated it quieter than any other tire.

The Kumho Solus tires are $100 on tire rack web site but the Kumho Ecsta Platinums are $117. Been running the Platinums on my '07 Impala SS with great mileage results and nice ride. For the $17 per tire difference, it's worth it plus the better treadwear warranty.

Interesting comments about the Bridgestone Serenity above. I have to say that I find them to be noisy, more so than the OEM tires. I've had them on my ES350 for a year now and would not get them again. Even my wife complained from day one that they were too loud.

I bought them based on the good quietness rating from Tire Rack. So go figure.

Odd,I find the Serenity's to be quieter and smoother riding that the stock low rated EL 400's..
The Primacys are said to have a better ride and should because they are 'H' rated with side walls being less stiffer than 'V' rated..

Yes, I hate it when there are mixed recommendations - you don't know what your experience will be. All I can say is we were very disappointed with the Serenities.

I have to replace two of my Serenities in the next month or so. Based upon the recommendations above I'm seriously considering the Michelin Primacy.

I'm thinking of dumping the Serenity's and trying the Primacy's because of all the great reviews but the Serenity's have great reviews too.
Although again ,because of the 'H' rating softer sidewall, the Primacy's have to ride smoother.I don't know if that has anything to do with the 'H' being quieter than the 'V' rated. Both tires scored the same on Tire Rack.
