Default The truth about ES 350 headlights

What is the deal with the headlights on the ES350? I heard that the standard edition only has halogen lights The premium packages have the HID with swivel lights? Why would Lexus produce a $35k (MSRP) car that doesn't have HID lights?

Can someone give me the facts please!?!?!

Lexus and many other luxury auto makers have Halogen as an option, even in Projectors!

I think it's wrong as well, but having Halogen is what makes the next package "better"

Cloth seat upholstery is standard on ES350. How many of those have you seen around?
Halogens feel too dim to me ever since I drove a car with xenons.

Not any more Last year I saw two with the cloth upholstery. But, as I said, you will not be seeing any 2010s.

Once you have HID's,it's tough buying another vehicle without them.

Default Anybody had one of their hid headlamps mysteriously go off?

I have an 08 ES wilth just 11,000 miles. Pulling in the garage tonight I notice that the right side headlight is not reflecting against the back wall as I pull in. Get out to look..and sure enough it's not on. Turn the headlight switch off then on. The bulb is back on but dimmer than the left headlight Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue.

Weird! I had the same situation about a month ago. Drove into the garage and saw the right headlight was off. Got out to look, went back to the switch and turned it off and on. Both lights came on nomally (so, not dimmer on the right side).

I haven't had any issue with the headlights since.

I had this happen to me last year. Its a problem that would occur randomly - and only after driving for a while. You might see it happen again in the future and the only way you can tell is by seeing your car's reflection off the car in front.

Lexus replaced my HID bulb with a new one under waranty after I brought it to the dealership.

You would think Lexus = HID headlights standard equipment on all models.
