Where the heck is the facelifted ES?
With the refreshed Camry just about on sale now, what is taking Lexus so long with the ES? The two cars have run hand in hand for ions. But not a peep out there from any publication or online blog. This is most strange!

I would expect an aesthetic refresh for 2010 (wheels, lights) as Lexus usually runs in 6-7 year cycles. The new LS and RX give a sneak peak at the new styling trademarks with the squared off front and rear ends. I think the next GS will look really sharp.
There isn't a lot to get excited about in the overall brand- an new SC is way overdue (I think it's been out since the turn of the century). I'm looking forward to seeing the IS cabrio and wish they would give the IS250 a performance boost. It's not in-line with the competition at its price point and the IS350 is overpriced.

The ES is officially scheduled for a facelift for the 2010 model year. Since the refreshed 2010 Camry is going on sale right now, and the two have run hand in hand in the past, I was expecting to see a similar launch with the ES. Obviously, that's not happening and the two are now splitting their debuts.

It's in it's 3rd model year.
Model year is different from production year.

Ha...Ha...funny an ES in Lacrosse clothing??...yeah right...unlike the ES....the Lacrosse has no charm is cheaply built (subpar fit/finish)...and even on its best day will never come close to an ES...No way Lexus will copy them...IMO

they should do a refresh. I think its the best selling lexus. They need to keep the main customer base interested. Its kind of like the stagnant styling on the first generation G35. It need more than the very minor stuff they did

Lexus with the ES and most all models does a refresh every third year. The ES 350 debuted as an 07 model so the refresh will be for the 2010 model.
Nothing drastically different, maybe a small bump in power, maybe more wood somewhere. I have not heard of any hybrid coming.
The Camry has moved to shorter refresh/revision cycles. Toyota created new technology where the Camry got refreshed in 4.5 years and not 5. You might say "thats only 6 months" but its such a huge deal when creating something as complicated as a new car. It allowed Toyota to have a 2 new Camrys while Honda only refreshed their old last gen Accord.
The ES/Camry relationship will continue to grow apart as Lexus moves further away from its parent company.

its def time for a slight facelift if were following lexus's 3 year refresh cycle...
logically, bodystyle is refreshed after 3 years and replaced after 5...which leads us to our next question which is will there even be another ES? or will the possible future ES even be built on a platform shared with the camry/avalon?
