What is the purpose of the _:00 button next to the clock? It just appears to round the time to the nearest hour.Am I missing something?
One more question please...the feature of the radio that spells out the name of the song and artist (rms???) requires constant pushing to view the entire string. Again, am I forgetting something that would allow a one-time view??

the :00 simply sets the time to the nearest hour in one press. If the the radio announcer on the news says it is now 3:00 and your clock says 2:58, hit the :00 button.

Your second question is a good one - has to be the stupidest radio made. If you want the song title, keep hitting the text button and hope you don't crash as it takes multiple presses and looks to get the info. I wonder if there is a way to set the radio to scroll the text or if there is a firmware upgrade that will do it.

Gotta agree with clarky. The stock radio is pretty dumb w.r.t. RDS. The Chevy Cobalt I rented last month did a much better job and it was pretty basic radio. I'm sure someone will say, "if you don't like the radio then you should have upgraded to the ML or at least got the navi package." Shouldn't have spend thousands more to get the RDS info to scroll properly.

right on clarky and jkayca. My 04 Avalon had a much better radio plus I didn't have to look 3 different places for the time. directional compass and outside temp.Unfortunately, couldn't find a late model certified used one last month so bought the Lexus. ES 350 is great car but as we point out, has some shortcomings.
