I really like my 2008 ES350 but I still get the itch for a BMW 335i from time to time

You summed it up well. My Lexus was BORING to drive. I now own 2 BMW's, an '07 328i and an '08 528i. Both have been excellent cars with ZERO problems and are a blast to drive. Once you drive one, it's hard to go back to a Lexus.

I wonder how the BMW stacks up agains the lexus in terms of true cost of ownership over a five year period? ie. no including leases or included services.

I love the way bmw handles, but to tell you the truth, id rather have the es350. This is only because i have different priorities then most other kids my age. I like quiet soft rides. Most of my driving is highway and while i like the idea of having a german car for stuff like that that can handle super high speeds, when could i actually use it, most of the time i will be in traffic, and for the price, there is not better car then the es350, just my opinion, but i will say this, if they lower the price for the 335d, i will jump on it
