Default Newbi needs help on possible purchase tomorrow

Hello,

First off I would like to say that you guys have a great site and very informative. I've been a long time lurker on this site. Finally found something that I may end up purchasing tomorrow but before I did that I wanted to run it by you all with the experience on these cars.

Its a 2007 ES350 with 23,000 miles. Car has all the options including Ultra package with glass roof and parking sensors. Final price OTD is $34,500. Car is certified from Lexus and carfax is clean. Original owner had this car for 2 year and 1 month.

Question #2.

Being that this car has the glass roof and less insulation how is the road noise.

Thanks in advance for all your help (If you would like to see the link to the car let me know)

I don't have firsthand experience, but I haven't seen anyone complain about UL package cars having more cabin noise, so it should be marginal if any more than regular trims.

Not sure about the OTD price, but what happened to Question #1? =)

less insulation
...hmm
lexus are never "less insulation"..and they are the smoothest and quietest car ever build..so there is not to worry about road noise unless the tires are horrible but since ur car is certified from lexus itself just have fun n let us know how do u like ur car.

If you would like to see the link to the car let me know
yes..share with us..

I have an 07 UL. The road noise is fine, there is no difference in road noise...I have driven a PP 07 ES also.

However, when the car flexes on turns, going up or down hills, there is a popping noise. I believe there is a TSIB on this.

So, take it for a good drive and try to turn up a hill slowly, like a driveway or something and see if there is popping noises.

Mine does it, I live with it.

Also, watch the tranny!! The 07s had the flare issue.

Good luck!

That is a bit pricey for 23000 miles on ES. Look around...

Yes, a bit pricey. I bought the exact same car with 10k miles for $30K three months ago in LA. The car was an immaculate Black/Tan 2007 UL with parking sensors and LoJack.

Agree with the flex with the glass roof but it doesn't bother me at all.

Overall, a great car and am very happy with the performance and gas mileage.

Just watch out for the usual well documented problems withis model.

I have the full loaded 2008 and outside noise could be the least of your problems, if you don't heed the above.

The TSIBs will be looked after with a good deealership, but watch out for problems that are documented on this forum.

Thanks again for all the help.. Here is the link to the car for those that are interested.
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...00&cardist=107

I was able to lower the price to about 32k and then once you add tax and title I am about 34,500

dmunjal: Did you pay 30k OTD.

I have searched over and over again and everytime I contact a dealer or private party they are not willing to offer a less or the same price. I may have to just wait a tad more. P.S. My current lease expires now in March

[If you would like to see the link to the car let me know
Please send the link...first year model..WATCH OUT

1. Tranmission flare
2. Wind noise
3. Mirrors are not the redesigned mirrors on the 08-09/

I would stay away and get an 08 or a new 09

2 year and 1 month.
This would be an early model build.

For this amount of money + pocket change and considering today's economy, you can probably get '09 non-UL. As mentioned above, this is an early build model (exactly when I had my ES350) that was plagued with problems. Some people got lucky, other still in denial about the problems, but lots were affected. Lexus didn't do buyback of thousands of these for nothing. So buying this ’07 model is like playing Russian roulette…

Yep, for $1K more OTD, I picked up a brand new '08 non-UL for my wife. She loves it.

Well, this unit was a trade in and not bought at the auction...that is a good sign. Anytime the stock number ends in "A", it is a trade. If a customer bought this unit and traded a car in for it, that car would have the same stock number, but would end with a "B", and so on.

Auction units or other cars that were not trade in's stock numbers do not end with a letter, for the most part.

No, it was a private party sale at $30K. I then paid the DMV tax and registration.

Private sales will always be less than dealer sales. Dealers will certify the car and put a 100K warranty on it. Not to mention a full recondition.
