Yes the previous owner traded this car in to purchase an LS460 Apparently this is a customer that trades in his vehicles every 2 years or so. I was told that he is one of their top customers and has purchased over 10 vehicles from this dealership.. 30K private party vs 32k dealer being certified doesn't sound bad. Still very confused. i told the dealership this monring that i am not going to go through with the purchase. This way I will have some more time to think about the whole picture. This may be a stupid question being this is the ES350 section but do you think I should just stick with an 05-06 330 and save myself around 10k or so.. Just an idea. Is the 350 far superior to the 330?

The 350 has more power, but is not as quiet..and is larger. It does get great fuel economy.
Add the savings of $10K? Hmmmm...you would be losing some nice options that you would get on the 350 UL vs the 330....but, that is a decision you need to make.
Good luck

The steering and handling is a little sharper on the ES350, if that is important to you. I preferred the styling of the 350 vs. 330, but that is a personal thing. As MD said, 10K is 10K though. Good luck...

If you don't care about the slightly pudgy looks, the 330 is a great car. In fact, I drove a rental 2004 ES300 in Asia and that's what called my attention to Lexus and the ES line. The 350 brings the ES into a totally modern era, so the style mattered to me.

What'd you end up doing? Consumer Reports gave the GS line lower scores then the ES.
If you consider any newer used car I encourage you to get it appraised independantly, ie. get permission from the dealer to have your mechanic look at it and get a buy quote from another party while you're at it, ie. Carmax. You can bring the report to the dealer and use those to negotiate the price down another few %. Good luck either way.

Hello All,
After much research, I plan to make an offer of 36k on a level III 09 ES 350 (premium plus+Nav+park-assist) black/black next weekend (Dec 26). I'm in the ATL area. Invoice at this level is 36.5K, so I'm a little under. I'll let everyone know of my experience. I must add that the M-35 was somewhat in contention, it's a great car and you can get a 08 right at 32K w/tech package, under 10K miles. I heard that the gas mileage was not good and the ride is stiff. I also looked at the build quality on the Lexus vs. other upscale cars. Does anyone have any thoughts on the M-35? Thanks

My brother has a M35 and loves it. It's his second one. First one was black, which he hated. Could not keep it clean even sitting in his garage during the week while he drove his truck to work. So he traded it on another one in light color. I haven't even seen it yet. Anyway, he just told me he was seeing 31.3 mpg on his trip from North Carolina to Richmond yesterday.
Not bad!
