ES350 Premium and Premium Plus Package
What is the differences between the two packages, and why is the price difference so large? The '09 brochure is silent on the Premium Package, but it is available. The '07 brochure lists them both, but the content doesn't seem to justify the price difference.

There was a change. In 09, more stuff is standard than what was on the 07. You can't compare an 07 and an 09 pricewise. Basically, base price went up but one of those Premium packages went down in price. Ends up a better deal actually.

^^^^Can you explain please? I just picked up an '08 for my wife, and am confused.
This press release says the ES is unchanged in '09

Lou,
The 2009 changes were very minor. The Red color was changed, elapsed time was added to the combination meter and an option was added for heated seats without ventilation.
The base price was raised $200 and the Premium Plus package was reduced by $1200. Therefore the MSRP of a 2009 with the Premium Plus package should be $1000 less than a 2008.
I purchased my wife's 2008 during the "Event" before the 2009's came out and I though I got a good deal. It looks like I should have waited for an 09, it might have been cheaper.

I just picked up my wife's '08 this last tuesday. I think I did pretty good on the price. It's got the premium package, not the plus package. From all that I'm seeing, it now appears, at least to me, that the premium plus package is an add on to the premium package, as they both appear to have MSRPs of $1,280.00. However, it's sill murky to me. It will become clear once I see an '09 window sticker.

I think what Lexus did was eliminate the Premium Package and the Ultra Luxury Package, only the Premium Plus is now listed on the Lexus site.
In 2008 the Premium Plus Package was $2480, for 2009 it is $1280. Both packages listed on the Lexus site are both Premium Plus Package with different mix of "additional options". The more expensive Premium Plus package adds HID headlamps and Power Rear Sunshade. The latter package is on our 08 ES350. We had the HID headlamps our 2001 ES350 and my wife really liked them - she insisted the new Lexus have them as well.
I have not seen a window sticker for a 2009 Premium Plus with the HID headlamps yet to compare to my 08. I looked around at my local dealer last week and they have very few 09's on the public lot, they are still loaded with 08's. They probably don't want to put the 09's on the public lots until the 08's are gone.
