My gearshift sometimes sticks in the position between "R" and "P" when I put it in Park. This happens when I just push the gearshift straight forward and release it, rather than pushing it forward and then sliding it sideways to the left. Does anyone else have this issue? (Of course, when I took it to the dealer, it worked perfectly and popped sideways to "P" after I pushed it forward, so they didn't see a need to fix anything.

sorry man.. but yeah.. thats always the case.. the dealer never sees it. Its like the cars knows to behave.

Had that problem with my 2001 VW Passat when it was new (3 mos. old). Fixed under warranty.

I think it is an issue caused by the fix for your dash rattles, from your other post. Something may not have been put back correctly when they opened up that area. Just my 2 cents.
