A whole fender for $200? The grill surround (the outside chrome part, not including the middle part where the slats and lexus symbol are) is about $150. The cheapy plastic piece that sits btw the front license plate and the bumper is another $50. Those two pieces cost almost the same as a whole fender? Right....

What's so hard to understand ? If you have this glorified opinion of Lexus parts, you're mistaken. It's a piece of sheet metal and a plastic bumper cover for god's sake.

His estimate is actually high when it comes to parts prices.

Description Year MSRP Price Your Price
Fender Right 07-08 $323.31 $258.65
Bumper cover 07-08 $305.95 $244.76

Yes, you can buy the whole fender, not 1/4 of it

There is a difference between what it SHOULD cost and what it WILL cost.

Glad you're ok! I'm going to guess $6252.

You'd be surprised at how much some parts that appear to be inexpensive to replace really do cost--when my Denali was being repaired (rear-ended), the trailer hitch assembly (one wide and hefty piece of metal) for it cost around $200 IIRC; OTOH, a 3' x 1' piece of plastic fascia trim that attaches to the body using double-sided tape cost $150.

BTW--my guess is $5650.
