Friend's 2007 Lexus ES350 passenger window fell out.
On my friend's ES350, the passenger window just came out of the door as it was being rolled up. The top corner near the B-pillar was just sticking out and you could fit your hand through there with the door closed.
I wanted to know if this is a common problem? I looked and looked but just see the transmission flare issues. I like the ES350 and the general direction Lexus is going in terms of design, etc., but that really is dissapointing for a brand new Lexus with less than 5,000 miles on it. The window is being repaired under warranty and re-tinted.

I have been an owner and member of this forum for almost 2 years and have never heard of this one. Hey, that is why cars have a warranty. No car is perfect. It is when an issue is widespread that consumers should be concerned.
Glad to hear Lexus is repairing AND paying for the re-tint.

Good tinters take the door apart. It allows them to tint below the seals so that the seals don't cause the tint to peel down the line. The cheapy $100 tint jobs don't have the time to take that much care, but the high end ones will. I have Huper Optik and V-Kool on mine. Over $600 for tint. He took the door panels off my car.
Still, they shouldn't take enough to cause the window to pop off, but maybe they did.

Yea then you get that ghetto line at the top of the window when you roll it down. A decent tinting company will take the whole door assembly apart. I'd be willing to bed they didn't put the window back in correctly.

No way would I ever consider having my windows tinted if they had to pull off the door panels!! Invariably you're asking for trouble...noises, left out clips, improper refitting, etc.

Brought it to Lexus of New Orleans and they had a new window installed in about 45 minutes. Service Advisor told me that one of the clips attached to the bottom of the window had cracked.
