I've been rolling my driver's side window up and down at least 50 times a day trying to get it to fall out of place so that I can have both doors done at the same time.

Took mine to the dealer this morning. Confirmed the problem on the passenger side window. Ordering new glass and parts (saw the glass had some missing on the bottom - did not shatter). Told me that it would take a week to procure as these parts are in high demand. Offered to give me a loaner if it bothered me to have the passenger side window non operable. Declined as we never really open it. Glad to have the extended warranty on my '07 - covered!

Yet another window replacement to add.

07 ES350, Passenger side, No tinting. Failure due to mounting tabs being broken.
Glass and mounting tabs replaced under original warranty.

The $1500 (ext. warranty price) question - are the new tabs/windows
redesigned and will prevent future failures ? Anyone know.

new window assembly installed / back in business. Without the Lexus Extended Warranty, would have cost about $500 for this mess. It was $0.

wow.. this itself makes me worry about taking extended warranty.. so can I assume if I dont have extended warranty and I run out of my 4 yr 50K mile warranty. will this be covered. ? I doubt.. hence I think I will take the extended platinum for peace of mind for 3 more years.

Does any one know how much the parts cost to fix this ? Is it just a small
plastic tab that breaks and can be ordered separately or does the whole
assembly needs to be ordered ?

Plastic tabs are not available separately, you must purchase the glass.

QUOTES I GOT TODAY from TOBY.. looks like rates have gone up..

8 year 75000 = $1420.00
8 year 100000 = $1865.00

OTHER THAN THE DARN WINDOW issue.. I really dont think I WANT THis warranty.. how do I get peace of mind that my WINDOW will not fall out. post warranty.. Like someone said. should I keep trying . raising and lowering the window 50 times a day.. Ha ha... till it pops out. There should be a DIY fix or something which we can do.. ITs a shame Lexus is not doing this as a RECALL on all its ES350s..

My wife's ES350 is now coming up to 5 years old. Great car but have had 3 windows replaced by Lexus, 1 front passenger and 2 driver. Second driver window way out of warantee but I made a fuss and it was replaced FOC. Lexus are reluctant to acknowledge the design/material flaw as not all vehicles exhibit the problem. Never had issues with previous Lexus vehicles.

I agree, it looks like a obvious design issue that they are failing to
acknowledge or at least extend the warranty/fix.

Also, what is with having to replace the entire assembly + glass when
only a small plastic tab is the broken part. Sounds like making money.

IF u read the TSIB bulletin. it clearly mentions.. only cars in warranty. its already acknowledged as a DEFECt... so why do we have to have warranty.. This is almost like blackmail.. I now feel compelled to buy the extended warranty. as I fear . murphy;s law.. as soon as my 4 yr .warranty expires.. the window will pop out... do u think I can talk my local lexus dealer to fix it say later also, if I keep bringing my car in. and maintain a relationship.. only problem is that. i dont use a lexus dealer ship.. i get my work done. at miscellaneous places and occasionally the dealer,
have not been too loyal to them.. ! Will someone who has a good relation with your lexus service rep... talk to them and show them this TSIB and ask. hypothetically if we dont have warranty will they still fix it.. for zero or reduced rate ?.

Angry defective windows (broken clip/off track) 07 es350

Popping sound/window off track on my 07 es350 drivers side window.. NO WINDOW TINT...4 years old w/ 60,000 miles...Popping sound once..then off track the next time I lowered the window...Took it into Toyota.....charged $54 to tell me that that the window needed to be replaced because of a broken clip at a cost of $630..I checked into local glass shops prices..One quote was $231 w/ one year warranty parts/labor ..Another quote was $338 with lifetime warranty parts/labor..I believe this problem is a design defect and a recall needs to be issued...I plan to contact Lexus..Hopefully, others will do the same...Contacted Lexus dealer and got a quote of $584...I now plan to conact LEXUS SATISFACTION CUSTOMER RELATIONS regarding design defect.......
