Wind noise
Is their one definitive thread on the wind noise coming from the driver's side window at the top of ES350's? I've spent over an hour searching various threads without finding an answer / solution. My dealer had our car for two days, claim they taped the windows at the seal, which they say did not stop the noise. Bottom line - no cure from them.
As well, is anyone also getting that same wind noise from the passenger rear? Finally, heading into wind at 55 mph or more, my 20K mile 2007 ES 350 is now also giving off wind noise from the moon roof. None of these noises were evident until after 10K miles. Thanks for any help directing me to the right thread(s).

I haven't heard of wind noise coming from the pillars, but we 07 owners are stuck with the whistling caused by the side view mirrors, which has been addressed with a redesign on the 08's.
In other news now that the temperature is warming up I'm noticing some awful rattling noises from my sunroof. It was my fault for buying a first year model I guess.

Thanks to both of you for your comments. On an 800 mile r/t last weekend, I did notice that I could eliminate the sunroof wind noise but tweaking the open / close button to get it to stop at a fully closed position. So far, I've not heard any rattling but in MN we've not had much warm weather.
As to side wind noise, I didn't mean to imply the middle pillars were causing it. I was trying to comment that, especially on the driver window, the noice seems to come from the top back by the pillar. The passenger window has no noise and yet the right rear window also experiences the same noise.
If the mirrors are causing the side wind noise, which is certainly possible, it is odd to me that the noise wasn't there until about 10K miles and it's not uniform on both sides. Oh well. Any other comments would be appreciated.

Overall, it has been a common complaint. As to the repair, it depends how committed your dealer is and how much time they will put towards it. Others have tried some do-it-yourself methods. There have been success stories on this forum.
Good luck

Just FYI, it gets pretty windy here in Colorado, I have never heard the mirrors whistle.

I think we ended up determining there were 3 major causes of wind noise:
1) Missing PDI Plugs
2) Seals around windows
3) Mirror design
I'd start by inspecting your PDI plugs on the bottom of your car. If they are missing, problem solved: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=243147
If the PDI plugs are all in place, then you've got an air leak somewhere which shows up at speed. The fact that your moonroof has wind noise and you have to toggle it into place to stop it isn't a good sign either. Clearly something might be leaking there.
If you think you can localize the sound to the door glass and it's coming from a particular area try this: Slip a business card(s) from the inside of the vehicle into the area where you think the sound is coming from. This is easy to do between the glass and the window rubber. This isn't a fix, but it will help localize the source of the noise.
