Default Illuminated overhead room light and garage door buttons

I'm interested in installing the overhead room light and garage door buttons as describe in your well documented project, however the links to the photos are no longer active, Is it possible if you still have these photos to email them to me, it will be most appreciated.
Searching for these buttons at night is becoming a problem for me.

Thanks,

PS I'm a new member and this is my first post

I think I can make do with what I have. I have not had a real problem finding the garage button. It would have been nice to have illuminated buttons, but considering everything else, its an acceptable trade-off. Great description and post!!

I have to do this but without pics it's more complicated.

One question, where did you find the +12 wire?

You can buy #12 auto wire at any auto parts store.

I want to do this too. Reading the OP's text, it seems that he soldered directly to the circuit board. There are wires in the area that I had tapped 12V (ign on) when I wired in my Sunvisor GPS project. The wires are to the rearview mirror.

If we don't get pictures, I'll dig out which wires I'd tapped into.

I will post a DIY.

You're the man!

FYI, the 12v (ignition) wire is Black, The ground wire is White w/ Black stripe. The wires are in the harness that connects to the overhead module.

The OP instructions are all there, but I'm not sure how/where he cut notches, etc. I guess once you open the module up, it will be obvious.

I'm here with some news. The time here is 1:19 PM but I had to go to my ES to check the overhead console. I put everything on the table but there is a problem. The buttons are numerated 1 2 3 but the numbers are not transparent. They are just paint. So if I put a LED inside the number would not be illuminated, so I think I have the solution:

I can cut a small hole through every button (next to the number) and then I can fill it with transparent silicone. Then I can put a small LED over the hole (in the button inside) and the hole/silicone will be illuminated.
I think that is the best solution for this. So, there are 3 buttons for the remote, 2 DOOR and 2 for the sunroof = 7 LED-s. They can be connected the the same wire. What you guys think?

I think it will work. The OP 's mod allowed the light to show through the gap between the button and housing. Your solution is more direct, but also more invasive. You might want to test the "gap" method first, before drilling the holes. The gap method may suffice.

P.S. where are you located? I thought you were in the US

I'm in Europe currently but I used to live in MI.

I put the whole console next to the light and the result is **** to be honest.

The DIY will come soon.

P.S. I cannot decide between green and white color.

I was thinking that green will be better because the rearview mirror lights and compass are green.

I'm back, tired as ever. This **** took around 10 hours. The second biggest PITA the world has ever seen.

But, the result is here:

I cannot believe that TAKUMI let this pass without the illumination.
The DIY will come tomorrow.

What you guys think?
