But does your car have the push button feature? I think the technical difficulty lies with making this work in a push button feature car. The technology behind that is much more sophisticated..
Anybody else has experience with this??

Apparenty though it can be done because some lexus dealers themselves are offering the service. The only thing is that they would do it with an extra fob.
More input would be helpful from those who have actually implemented any of this...

i can make almost anything work but do you really want to pay for this type of feature. there are many companies that make highend alarms that can be wired to work on youre factory remote. the reason everyone wants to get away from the remote is because of the limited range. i recomend getting a good alarm/starter and use just their remote . it will control the factory stuff also if interfaced properly

Ok, let's say the native fob range is limited so we'll do away with making it all work in the same remote. But getting an aftermarket alarm is opening a can of worms according to several lexus dealerships. so who's right? do you have any specific models that work well with the ES 350 push button feature? are there any compromises with the aftermarket alarm/remote starter??
Details, details please.

Nobody in the security or ES 350 forum has a definitive solution. I am simply amazed that one doesn't exist yet given that most new lexus vehicles will have this feature.. unbelivable..
anybody else has ideas?

i will do further reaserch tommorow and let you know but my 15 years of experiance tell me the dealer is just trying to get your money or keep you out of their car. whatever happens dont let them tell you that it will void your warranty cause thats illegal

are you getting the IS or the ES? i noticed you mentioned the ES and if that is the case i would post there to see if anyone has done it with that specific car. others have done it with the IS but its aftermarket and there is a way around this. you loose a keyfob or have to purchase another one.
just curious how much does the dealer want and are they saying its a factory or aftermarket starter?
Good Luck and congrads on the future purchase! Welcome to CL...

I'm getting the ES and nobody in that forum has done this which is shocking. ES or IS I think the more important question is whether it can be implemented in lexus push button vehicles. The dealer prices have ranged from $550 to $900. No intalls are officially lexus, they're aftermarket but if I install at the dealer, they will cover or honor the factory warranty.

Ok, let's do away with trying to make it work on the factory key fob. I'm ready to accept the additional fob.
But now what? It still doesn't address the other concerns.
Any other help??

it can be done and if they do it for 600$ or less thru Lexus and will cover anything that goes wrong then that is the direction to go. i was going to pay just under 400$ for my IS.(they wanted 700$) But i was also doing my wifes TSX and we ended up only getting her car done as they need my car for a day or more and i just dont have the time to let my car go for that long. this was thru a side shop so Lexus wouldnt cover this.

My bad i must have not read the post very well. I understand what your saying about checking out the nissan forum but they have had push button start for a couple more years in their cars and may know how to bypass it. Also there must be a way to bypass the oem alarm unless it is built into the computer that controls the other hardware (navigation, stereo). If that is the case it has to be disabled by lexus in the software. Also I know you have talked to dealers but is it possible to call Lexus directly and I've never heard about the federal law about remote starters you might want to ask him to show you it.

I do not know about the Viper alarms, except that I hear them going off every time the wind blows. My Lexus alarms almost never false alarm, keep people out of the car, and work invisibly every time the car is left alone.
I do not want or need any other features than that, maybe some others do...
