I'm in SoCal and have seen 3 different OEM tires on the ES350:
Michelin MXV4 Plus All Season
Toyo Proxes J33 Summer
Bridgestone EL400 Summer

My inclination was to go with the Michelins since they would last the longest and are the most expensive (if purchasing yourself) of the bunch. But it seems not many people like them on the ES350, mainly due to noise issues. I don't mind shorter life tires if they provide a noticeably better quality ride.

My dealer says I can take my pick. Which one of the OEM tires would you choose?

I have the Michelin's on my car, and they're quiet and smooth running. I love em!

If I had the choice, Michelin - my 350 has all season Bridgestones, they are good tires, but I will likely replace with Michelins when they need it, hopefully I get 30K out of the original tires.

I have Michelins (MXV8 all season) and they are very quiet on asphalt roads. However I had a brand new loaner with toyo tires for 3 days and I noticed a lesser noise and road feel than Michelins (specially on concrete roads). I am thinking about changing to toyo tires when Michelins are worn off. The only concern I have is that I dont know how good they are going to be after driving few thousand miles under heat and sun. My Michelins after one and half year and 16k miles look like new to my surprise.

I have never had Toyo so can't comment on them. Had Michelin on two cars and found them to be excellent riding with good tread wear.

My ES 350 came with Michelin MXV8's which is what I wanted and I have been very happy with them. I had Toyo's one another car and had some problems the most significant of which was not being able to locate Toyo dealers who carried the OEM tires.

I have the Mich's on my car, they are wearing well, but are very noisy and squeal on turns. Even turning into a parking space at the grocery store, they squeal. Otherwise, no isses.

Ain't that the truth! I have Michelins on my ES and I don't have to push them very hard to get them to squeal. I will also say that as far as grip goes, the Toyos do a better job at that than the Michelins. Yes, I know the Michelins are all-season, whereas the Toyos are "summer" tires; my point here is that for those of you (not necessarily in this thread) who claim that the OEM Michelin all-seasons have really good road-handling (i.e., grip) ability--drive an ES that's wearing the Toyo summer tires and see if you still think the OEM Michelins are great road-handling tires.

I am never a fan of Michellin tires. They don't have enough grip especially when it's wet. I just hate it when I am driving 10km/h and still hear tires squeal on turns in a parking lot. The thing is these Michellins last really long@@ I am going for GoodYear Triple Tred after this. At least, that's my plan for now.

Our Es came equipped with Michelins and have not had any issues with road noises. They are very quiet and give a great ride. BUT........as soon as it is time for replacements, I will be going with a set of Yokohamas. We have a set on my daughters Maxima and I really like the beefy sidewalls. This may give a little firmer ride but the sidewall protects the edges of the rim from curbrash.

Ditto for the Goodyear Tripe Tread. My OEM Michelins have 7700 miles and are looking worn (even). The ride is smooth but I will be lucky to get 10,000 miles on them.

Is anyone else dubious about the tread life of these tires? I don't think I could stomach getting a set of these....

If I remember correctly, when I was looking at the brochure, prior to making our purchase, there was a note that discussed the short tire life. I dont have access to the brochure right now but I would be curious as to the cause of the premature wear. Is it a problem with certain brands of tires or is it something that effects all ES's no matter which tire is used.
