Interested to see what happens.

My sister was in a frontal collision in a Honda element.

A truck moved out of his lane and hit her driver's side front end at about 25MPH,

Not one airbag deployed.

Another reason to put em all in the back seat.

I have an easy fix. All Mrs. Lexus has to do is bypass the sensor so the passenger air bag will deploy in any collision, just like the drivers. Funny how they assume that there is always a driver in the driver's seat during a collision (DUH!). Ever since they got rid of the front bench seat you can't drive from the passenger seat anymore.

Let me be the first to opt out of any class action unless it's for rattles.

Hmmm interesting to see what happens with this suit.

Are any of the ES350 owners here on CL having this problem or had it in the past?

There don't seem to be any issues with my dad's ES350.

Also, here's a link to a story and comments from The Truth About Cars, most of it centered around the fact that this is ambulance-chasing run amok:

Default My Passenger side airbag sensor

My wife and I were driving about a week ago and we noticed that the airbag sensor showed that the airbag was off, even though my wife was sitting in the front passenger seat. She only weighs about 105 lbs, but that should certainly be enough to arm the airbag. After about 20 minutes or so, the airbag sensor did recognize that someone was in th front seat and it did arm it.

Well, taking twenty minutes to realize your wife was in the seat is pretty bad to me. Have you taken your ES in for this concern? Or do you plan to?

I have lots of rattles too and the fifth time I took it in I was told that the field technician from Lexus headquarters said he does not hear anything it sounds like it supposed to.
I guess it is the characteristic of the vehicle as they say about the engine noise (sounds like a diesel) ETC
