Default 30K Mile Service

I am about 500 miles away from needing the 30K service. Unfortunately, I have lost my Lexus manual (new one coming in the mail). Does anyone know what types of service I should expect at 30K? I know that the dealer is charging $550, what do I get for the money.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

If that's what happens at the 30,000 mile service, then my local mechanic / service station can perform for way less than $550. The biggest thing is the a/c filter, in which maybe the part interchanges with a Camry. Air filter I can do.

so are you saying that in the 30K service. we can refuse to have the brake fluid flushed
will that void any warranty.. later ?

I don't have my manual/maint. schedule handy, but the wording Required vs. Recommended would be the key to determine if refusing a particular service would void the warranty.

Also, there is probably information in the warranty section as to what would actually void the warranty.

thats really expensive. they do all those checks at 5k intervals anyways. The air filter is 15 bucks and the cabin filter is 15 bucks. If you can change and air filter you can change the cabin filter. As far as the brake flush I dont know. That sounds like they'd be charging you approx 450 for a brake flush. At 30k I dont know if id change the brake fluid. It never herts but sounds a little fast. More like 60k. It usually will get flushed when you change pads. The reason is because water gets into the fluid eventually because brake fluid attracts moisture. The water effects (lowers) the boiling point and you brakes will fade under heavy braking (when you slam the brakes at high speed). Nevertheless it is not going to hert to change the fluid.

Smile Unreasonable charges

I have a 2007 RX 350 and a soon to be 2011 ES 350

Had 2007 ES350 since May06. What I did was tell service to just do what is needed for Warranty purposes.
They complied. Recently I have been taking my cars to Airport Toyota and getting a $5 coupon each time. My last maint on 2007 @ 65000 miles cost me $34.00, and they signed book and gave me receipt.
Take this advice and you will never loose any warranty repair costs. Lexus service mgr called me and wanted to know why I didn't bring cars to them.
Well he told me next time to call him and he would adjust my charges in line with Toyota service. This is Lexus of Dayton.....................................

When I had the 30k service on my '07 done at the dealership it was under $300 ($298 or so). Things were really slow then and they were offering a special on the service.

It seems to be higher now, but the two dealers I go to always have online coupons for various services. If I have the 30k done on my '10 I'd look for one of them.

when you guys are going to the toyota dealer and getting service are they logging it on the database of stuff that your car has been in for like lexus does? Another words you can get a report at lexus of all the service ever done on the car. I just wonder if you goto toyota and get service if it still shows up when the lexus dealer looks the cars history up.

When I bought my 2007 last month, the Toyota records showed up in carfax but did not show up in MyLexus when I registered there. MyLexus has the Lexus records piece so I put the Carfax records in and now I have a complete picture. Not sure what can be concluded from that but it was my experience.

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread but this helped me when I scheduled the 30k service on my 2010 ( it's at Toyota now)
Toyota is doing the 30k service plus induction cleaning for less than half of what Lexus quoted me for just the 30k service.
I don't know that I needed the induction cleaning but they said they recommend it every 30k. I figured since its a new to me car, it couldn't hurt.

What's an induction cleaning? Never heard of that!
