Default TPMS question

I have a set of wheels that I am thinking about mounting summer tires on and keeping my original wheels and tires for the winter. Can the new set be run without TPMS sensors and the TPMS disabled? I don't think the tire pressure monitoring system is all that valuable and would like to avoid the cost of a second set of sensors.

Cool

The TPMS sensors can be swapped from your OE rims. You cant disable the system however. Its federally mandated.
