For those ES 350 owners who have had body side molding installed by their Lexus dealer, how much were you charged for the labor by the dealer to install. My dealer is telling me it's $135 for the molding itself, but 2.5 hours x $120($300) for the installation.

I bought a new 2006 Acura TL this year, and the dealer charge was $0 for the installation.

What has been your experience?

In Canada, the price of the molding installed is $160.00.

Go to the US Lexus site and look at the section that shows the items available from the dealer. You should see the price of the moldings and an * which tells you at the bottom of the list that the instalation is included. At least that's how it shows at the Lexus.ca site.

Unfortunately the U.S. Lexus web site is different. They put the number 3 there which means contact dealer for cost of dealer installed options.

Mine came with and the total retail sticker price for them and their installation was 199 dollars, so the price you are quoted seems high to me.

Mine were free when I purchased the car. I told the dealer I wanted them for free or for a very nominal cost, and they just did it.

jkolansky, have you already taken delivery of your new car? If so, there's no incentive for the dealer to negotiate with you on the cost of options AFTER the sale. If you haven't purchased the car yet the ball is still in your court for getting them at a better price. If the dealer sticks to $435 for body side moldings, run, don't walk, away from that price.
