However, HID lows seem to do that when you use the "flash to pass" during daylight hours, so go figure.

I agree with the general sentiment here. The ES350 is incredible and I love it, absolutely love it .
However, like any car I've every owned, there are things I would have done differrently and features I miss from my own personal experiences with other vehicles. LEX2007 was just listing the items that fall into these categories for him.

Yup and a few more
1) Back seat reading lamps too dim
2) Valve clatter on start-up sounds like diesel
3) Clock cannot be read in bright sunlight
4) Floor map clips are black on beige carpet mats and look very cheap
And the wind noise you referred to is a big surprise for me. It's really iritating.

HID High Beams
The 6th Generation Maxima has low AND high HID headlights and the combination make the absolutely best illumination system of any auto that I have ever owned. Passengers often make unsolicited remarks about how impressive they are.

LOL!!! Nissan copied almost every single feature of Lexus ES350, but it will never be close to the quality of inside/outside and luxury of driving Reading the spec of '07 Altima with keyless entry, Nav w/backup camera, bluetooth, dual-climate, in-dash cd changer, 265hp V6 - and this is Altima?!? I'm switching right now from '98 Altima SE to '07 ES350, so its kind of weird that a line between high-tech features between luxury and other cars getting very thin. Of course, the quality will always set it apart, but they are really catching up with all these toys... Sorry, this is also off-topic...

I adore my ES350, but speaking of the clock, what's with that thing???
It's the same clock that was in my first generation, '93 GS300 and my ES300 and my RX300. Why isn't it a high-tech item in the nav system? Why isn't it one of the items in the Display rotation in the instrument cluster? And yes, wizhill, why isn't it set by a satellite?

My car has ALL the options as his, but in no way do I consider anything on his long list to detract from my enjoyment of this car.
Oh yeah, I would like to add that a bird ****** on my hood and this was a terrible distraction.

Every one of his points was valid and I concur with him on a lot of them.

BTW: I see in your profile that you drive a Scion not a Lexus. Just wondering. LOL

Maxima reference
AMF, I only mentioned the Maxima's high beam HID because there were two posts referring to the lack of them in the ES350.
My point was that they ARE available even on a "lesser" automobile like the Maxima - a 3 year old design. It's another example of Lexus "cheaping out" like they did with the LED tailights.
It annoys me that if and when I move to an ES, I will not have HID high beams....or the heated steering wheel for that matter.
On the oher hand, except for handling, the ES should be superior in almost every respect.
