No NAV, no tape player?
I know, nobody cares about cassette/tape player. But, how come audio system with NAV comes equipped with it, while the one without it - does not? I'm basing this on my test drive of ES350 with NAV where I've seen it, and picture of the manual of the system w/o NAV where its missing. Very strange. Of course, its really doesn't matter. Even so I'm getting my ES350 without NAV, the audio jack can be useful for my mp3 player (something that I was using my tape adaptor for in my current car).

Long Live The Lowly Tape Player
I absolutely LOVE IT!!!
I have been taping the entire Howard Stern show for over 20 years and listening to it throughout the day both in my car and at home.
The lack of a tape player was one of the major reasons I didn't buy a BMW 530xi a year ago (that and the all-too-typically primitive Germanic nav system). I love it and hope they never delete it.

20 years of taping Howard Stern show? Wow, that is very impressive!!! I really miss him at K-Rock. David Lee Roth was a joke, and I can't stand O&A. But, absolutely love Radio Chick show on a way back from work
Yeah, it looks like the only way to get a tape player is with NAV...

Artie and the rest of the crew all work so well together now it's not even funny (well, actually, it is...lol). Best bargain in the history of entertainment, $12.95/month. That works out to what, about $0.42 a day?
Pick up Sirius, you won't be sorry.
BTW, I agree with you about Roth, he was unlistenable but the way the brass handled that whole situation was disgraceful. Sadly all too typical though.
Did you hear that Howard got back the rights to all of his 20+ years of tapes?
Awesome, just awesome.

Didn't hear about the tapes. That is a great news!!! For now, my commute to work is very short, but it will change next year. Than, I will definitely going to get Sirius installed (that will justify the cost )
