my mom has the new STS not the V series that you have pictured...i love her car...the v series extremely fast....she has the base model sts and it has great pick up for a luxury car....you should see the v series front grill...makes it look like a million dollars....well not really a million but you get my point...it looks awesome. IMO

The new STS is one of the best American sedans ever built. I had an '02 and loved it. Great ride, superb stereo/NAV, nice handling for a large car, and plenty of power from that Northstar engine on REGULAR gas.

But, the new generation is rear-wheel drive. Good luck if you have to go up any hills in the snow. If you do, I would strongly suggest a winter tire/wheel setup. It should be relatively inexpensive from the Tire Rack.

My wife and I test drove all of the Cadillac sedans as well as the Buick line. To us the interior refinements and the exterior fit and finish of the Lexus are better. GM is still using a lot of hard plastics for interior finishes. I did love the new sales pitch from GM saying that the new Buick (Lucerne?) was quieter than the Lexus. I was kinda hoping to find the Cadillac or Buick acceptable considering I have one of their GM credit cards with about $2,000 worth of credits to use on one of their cars.

The other big factor for us is that our Lexus dealership is one first class operation compared to our Cadillac dealer. Our Lexus dealership has the free coffee bar, fruit, snacks, bottled water and leather chairs to watch TV while waiting for your 30 minute oil change. If you bring your Lexus in for anything other than an oil change they have a loaner RX waiting for you in the garage so you step out of your car into their loaner and away you go.

maybe in the regular sts ...but the v- series is sick looking from the front...the grill just looks mean.Hey , buy a car if you like it...who cares if older people buy it or rap artists or this group or that. If you like it that's all that should matter. Don't listen to your daughter. IF you like the lexusES get the ES. But if i were you test drive them both first. IMO the ES looks like a car that screams hip replacement.
