IF your lease agreement does not show a VIN number then you can still negotiate a better deal. Sometimes a dealership will have you sign all the documentation as if the car was being delivered immediately but without them handing you the keys you are free to still negotiate or use the time to look for a credit union with low rates.

For the UL package (red/black) I'm paying $665/month on a 36/12,000mile lease.

Esentially no money down. Only 1st month's payment and license and title, etc. stuff. Total due at delivery is $806.

I believe this represents about $2200 off sticker.

The ES 350 is a fabulous car, but it's not worth paying MSRP for it (IMO). I think $35K is good asking price for the ES350 with premium plus.

How much is it worth paying for an ES350 UL with ALL the options that this car offers? Hint: The MSRP is about $46,000.

I could "maybe" see Lexus getting $38-40K for a fully loaded ES350, and around $33-35K for one with premium plus (no NAV). I don't think it's worth more than that (and maybe not even that much), but you have to factor in how new the model is. In time, people are going realize that it's still not much more than an Avalon with more bells and whistles. It's a beautiful car, and I love everything about it, but I wouldn't pay $5K more than an upcoming 2007 Infiniti G35 or even the same as a BMW 330i. Personal preference I guess?

What you're saying is a Lexus dealer should sell a ES350 UL edition for below their cost!!
In other words you think that a car with an MSRP of $46,000 should be sold for $40,000??
No way, especially on a hot new model.

I'd be willing to pay $32,000 - $35,000 for a 2007 ES 350. I would never pay $40,000+ for an ES.

Prices are dropping. My wife just purchased the NEW ES and is paying $542 a month (36/12). The current ES 300 she traded it for booked out at $560 a month (36/12). She got a Blue Onyx Pearl over Cashmere with the Premium Plus Package that included Chrome Wheels (6 spoke design) and Bluetooth.

I'm a medical device salesman, and I have no problem with lexus getting whatever they can for the vehicles. It's just that I don't PERSONALLY think an ES350 is worth $40K. Lexus will continue to sell these vehicles at a profit, but I am thoroughly convinced that prices on these cars are going to see a significant price drop at the end of the year.

Infiniti, Acura, and BMW will all be launching their 2007 models in the coming months, and like everything else, that will (to a certain degree) bump the ES350 in the minds of many buyers. I still intend on buying an ES350 with PP at the end of the year, but I won't pay more for it than a fully loaded Infiniti G35 with NAV.

Out of the (3) manufactures you named above only Infiniti has a NEW vehicle (meaning redesign) that is brand new to our eyes. The G35. Acura and BMW have current looks and the same problems. But you are correct prices will come down when they release their 07's.

The 2007 BMW 330 will be the 2nd model year for what many people consider to be the best sedan ever built. Some buyers will consider that a great time to purchase a BMW because they'll have worked out some of the problems with the first model run. As for Acura, they don't have many problems to begin with, and the 07 TL will continue to draw buyers. The Infiniti G35 (my current car) is launching a complete redesign in 2007 and will be a huge draw at around $35K for RWD and 300+ HP.

I love my Infiniti, but I drive a done of miles every year and the quiet luxury of a lexus may be a lot easier for me to deal with. I'm also impressed by the new ES350 owners who are claiming to have achieved 26-31 MPG on the highway. If those numbers continue to be reported, it will make my decision a lot easier.
