Mattstermh, Congratulations on your purchase. I've own more cars than a person probably ought to in my economic scale, and I'm convinced Lexus is the best value going. I would buy a used Lexus instead of a new anything else any day. I owned 3 until I recently sold my SC430. Now just have the ES and a GX. Hopefully will get to add an LS to the stable at some point.

As far as tires, I've run Goodyear, Continentals, and Michelin, and now regret putting Continentals on the ES. Wish I'd bought Michelins. I'd go with Michelins if I was you.

While the owner's manual states 90 octane, if I recall correctly, after a lot of reading and listening on the subject, I convinced myself running 87 octane will not hurt anything. I have been using 87 for about the past year. So far, no ill effects.

Enjoy your new ride. Welcome to the club.

I have a few questions (I'm kind of a noob).

What is the recommended all season tire (I'm in MA)

What is the appropriate tire pressure?

Is it true that this car requires regular 87 octane?

Thanks in advance!

Continental ContiProContact.
28-31 PSI. If you ride on rough roads, I recommend 28. If you live in CA then 31.

You are just fine on 87.

Thanks for the responses guys. Right now I'm rolling with MXV4's and I may move to Defender in the near future, or just stick with the MXV4.

87 it is!

Lexus newbie here!

2007 ES 350
Black Obsidian
Premium Plus with Nav, rear sunshade, parking assist, backup camera, all the options

Upgraded from a 2000 Infiniti I30 with 298k miles that I would probably still be driving had it not been totaled by a drunk illegal immigrant (true story) but we are all ok thank the Lord. Drunk driver went to jail. Crappy reason to have to get a car, but I am counting my blessings.

In my family we drive cars til the wheels fall off. My mom has an 08 ES350 with 128k miles and zero problems so I wanted something safe and reliable!!

IN LOVE thus far.

just tacklieng some issues with our 2008 es350, which has actually been a very good unit, but at 90K some issues starting to creep in. got a clunk in fromt end which I determine to be sway bar link , so will be looking for best vendors, price, and most likely OEM replacements..

Hello and welcome to the team,

I have a 2007 ES 350 and just recently began hearing the same clunk whenever I turn right and was unaware what it was. Have you confirmed it to be the sway arm yet or is it just a guess? Please keep me posted as I would like to fix mine as well. Thanks for the input. This site has been very helpful I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Default sway bar link

new memer here,

i've confirmed the clunk ive been experienceing is the sway bar link , the joint at the top connection to the strut if you push (hard) up and down the play and thud is obvious, I ordered the new link from oemlexusparts.com, and now we'll confirm this weekend two things, IF oemlexusparts is really OEM and two, if my assesment of the cluunk is correct.

Default ES350 Pebble Beach Edition

Truffle Mica with all the options. Added the deck spoiler.

Question: will 235/45 r19 cause any issues?
