Prefer the current ES330
The only thing I liked about the new ES350 was the fronts... the rear looks like Hyundai to me.. and the interior panel is a dissapointment.. expected a better look for LEXUS... but I am also excited to check out the glass roof.. or what ever it is called.. can't wait to see that...

The ES350 is a combination of the LS460 and the GS styling. If you compare the 350 to the 330 there is allot to be excited about. The 350 will have keyless entry, Bluetooth for your phone, as well as high definition navigation. Not to mention a V6 275hp motor and a sportier look and ride. It’s a huge push forward for this Executive luxury car. It will now appeal to older and younger people alike.

degrade for the ES?

In fact originality doesn't work out for me in the ES350 case: look at how funny the rounded the *original* center console looks.
After looking at the exterior a few more times I am starting to see more "Toyota Coralla" in the backend! The front looks fine but if you think about it, most ES will have a license plate hanging in between the "\ /" shape lip line. That will make the car look like a rabbit. Actually more like a hampster! I did an MS Paint job and I think it looks a bit funny.
If someone has the extra time, maybe we can get a Photoshop'ed ES350 with a WA (or any white license plate will do) licence plate on it for our entertainment.

As far as the bunny-rabbit-ES or any conceptualization of an animal pertaining to the new ES, I have no clue =P but do put that 'BunnyRabbit ES' up, it would be a good source of entertainment while we wait =P

We will probably get used to it after a year or two. And I am sure the new ES will still sell like hot cakes regardless of how ugly it might look to some of us.

Pictures from Chicago auto show
Final debut of the ES350 is out:
http://gadgets.autoblog.com/2006/02/...-debut-es-350/
One thing I don't understand is the 0-60 time:
ES350: Powered by a 272-horsepower 3.5L V6, Lexus promises brisk acceleration, with a 0-60 mph time of 6.8 seconds (see the above link). Curb Weight 3,580 lbs.
GS300: 0-60 is also 6.8 second, with a 245-hoursepower engine. 3536 lbs.
(see http://www.lexus.com/assets/models/e...GS_Page_14.pdf)
What's going on? ES350 now has a much strong engine than the GS300 but it is still slower??? Am I missing something? The ES is only 44 lbs heavier.
