Great post, just one thing that I have learned from personal experience, goo gone is not a good thing to use..... I found that it damaged my clearcoat, and its no wounder, just look on the back of the bottle, it removes just about everything, I would just stick with the 3m, I found that to work the best and thats what just about all the body shops use, just some food for thought, becuase I dont want to see people trying this and going through what I did and having your clear coat removed.

I wish I had clear coat

Remeber, the rest of the paint was exposed to the element and the paint beneth the emblem wasn't. So in a couple of weeks/months it should match up

Default ES300 badge debadging

Actually took off the ES300 badge as I thought it looked weird on the lower part of the tail light of my 2000. No indents, no holes, no mark. Just came off really easy as you graps each letter indivually and gently peel sideways twisting a little. Hardly anything was left on the lens and it cleaned right off with some detailer spray. Much cleaner look IMHO.

i was at the junk yard the other day and i was debadging a 93-96 ES and the badges weren't just "glued" on, they were secured into the body work.

how do i know if my 1993 ES will be like that?

They will be. Unless you have Windom badges to go in their place, don't do it.

Hi! I have a 94 LS400. The e on the Lexus emblem is broken and the rear L badge is broken. 1 is the emblems interchangeable from model to model? And 2 is this a do it your self-job?

Thnx

3M adhesive remover ... or WD40, yes it requires elbow grease but it works fine...

I know, i did it on my Jetta, waiting for better/warmer weather to do the lexus

aaaallllright
so...i went to walmart, and since i got my new debit card that i ordered like 4 weeks ago cuz i lost mine, i bought some stuff to get the adhesive off from the debadge. goo gone, cuz i wasnt allowed to buy the 3M adhesive remover (you have to be 18), and the goo gone worked to get the chunks off, but not the littler stuff, so i had to go back and i got some turtle wax rubbing compound, which i used when i got home and WOW, the stuff's amazing, it took off all the black "stain" and all the little adhesive stuff that goo gone couldnt get. i also bought some leather treatment wipes and some automotive window cleaner for ****s and giggles

I have a '93 and I just removed the Lexus and the two"L" emblems (to do a little repaint) and they all have notches (for the holes). It is definitely intended to help keep the emblems lined up and firmly attached. The 3M adhesive remover worked perfectly too (you just have to be gentle). Hope this helps.

I recently had the trunk of my 95 es 300 hundred repainted and while the shop was removing the trunk they broke my rear right lexus emblem, I actually perfer the look of it without the emblem but the only problem is there are now two holes left where the emblem plugged into the trunk, any suggestions or hiding them, or remounting a new emblem?
