Question WHAT TO BUY if I sell the ES ??

If I were to somehow get $7000 or so for my ES, what car would you guys recommend that I buy? Im not just close minded into buying a Lexus, I am open to anything. I like a four door, but I also like the older SCs. What could I get for around $7000-$9000 that would be hot. Other Lexus' models, older BMWs, any ideas guys??

This is a very open-ended, discretionary question to ask, and as the cliche goes, it pretty much depends on what you want and what you can get for your money. The 2nd-gen ES and LS (after '97-'98) comes to mind since they seem more modern-looking and just as reliable, and priced in the low to mid 10s if you find one with decent mileage. BMWs are known to be very pricey, especially with their pre-owned, but the performance and handling of these cars are one of the best in their class.

I spent three months looking for a quality used car at a good price (not an easy find) before I ended up buying a 94 ES300. I was primarily looking for a four door under $10,000 as well. I ended up narrowing my search to an A4, TL 3.2 and ES300. I did drive a 95 SC400 w/ 92,000. In fact, I found another 95 SC400 as well. They were both selling for just under $13,000 which is just about the BBV. I ended up buying my ES for $6,800. Although the SC400 was nice, I don't think it is worth twice as much as I would pay for an ES.

With $7000, buying a nice pre-owned Lexus would be more cost effective in the long run (in terms of reliabilities and reparis) compared to it's european counterparts.
