Acceleration
Hi all, I've recently purchased a used 05 Lexus ES330 and after driving it several times, I've noticed that it does not accelerate as quickly as I expect it to (comparing to other cars I've driven). I am having to press the gas pedal almost more than half way for it to respond at all. Is there any way to fix this issue or is this just how the car is?
-- I've read in some threads that it could be the battery, but my car's battery is barely a year old.
Thanks in advance for your help!

I had a 97 ES300 and now I have a 06 ES330.
The 97 is more responsive than the 06. You really have to step hard on the 06 to get it going....
After all, it is geared towards comfort, not racing.

Could be number of issues. Does it have CEL check engine light on?
Check your transmission fluid, make sure it's full.
Might need to clean injectors, run a can of Gumout multi-system tune up.
Check tire pressure, low tire pressure will decrease mpg and might cause sluggish response on acceleration. These are just a few tips.

try not pushing but a bit on the pedal, and enjoy the smoothness. That's how I drive. Then the dead spot never bothers me, and I know there is lot's of HP if I ever need it.

If you have something wrong with your body, of course you can't exercise at the normal level.....
