Default Help with motor swap

Hello. I'm new to Lexus but my father in law has a 2001 Lexus es300. His engine is bad. So I found a 1mzfe with around 50,000 miles. I question is., is it possible to drop that engine in the car.?? If so can anyone help me with a forum or a link thanks to all.!!!

There are two variations of the 1mz-fe engine, one has vvti, one does not. The change was about 1999/2000/2001 depending on where you are in the world. I have a 1999 which is a non vvti engine, others in different parts of the world do have vvti.

You would be best fitting the correct engine, but if you were unable to find it a non vvti engine could work in the place of a vvti engine, but there might be significant changes in the wiring harness, and so it would be best to swap in only the long block and perhaps manifolds, but refit the injection, and auxiliaries. Including the o2 sensors, (all four) from the original engine.

I hope that makes sense.
