Exclamation beware: noob question

Soo, I recently made the jump from honda to lexus. I picked up a 2002 es300 and am looking to get it off the factory stilts. I see that all previous models can use camry/solara suspension parts like struts and coils (of course spring rates would be different) but my question is would the same hold true for the 4es?

I have my eye on tein springs for a solara and would hate to buy them, they not fit and be stuck w them...any help out there for this lost noob?

I'm trying to figure out the same thing!! This is my first Lexus and I'm eyeing up a set of Camry coilovers for my '03. I did a bunch of research but I couldn't find anyone confirming that they would fit.

I believe the front Coilovers will fit the ES but not the rears due to the mounts.

What about lowering springs on stock struts?

To cross reference parts between the Camry and ES, I look up OEM part numbers in the Lexus catalog:

http://www.lexussouthatlantaparts.com/

And see if its the same number for the Camry:

http://www.villagetoyotaparts.com/default.aspx

If they're the same, then I'm pretty sure an aftermarket part that bolts to a Camry will bolt to an ES.

For aftermarket parts you can do the same cross-reference on RockAuto. For example the rear KYB strut mounts I bought for my Solara is also listed for my ES330.

The 4ES shares the same platform as the 2nd gen Solara and 5th Gen Camry.

Definitely. You could do and it's actually cheaper untill the shocks wear out.

Dope!! The original plan was to get tein springs from a solara (cuz I think they only make camry springs for a 4 cyl) and KYB GR2 struts for the lex.
